Acknowledging EventsΒΆ

The acknowledgement feature for Events was added to provide users with an additional means of reducing the number of Alarms being reported by the Alarm Monitor.

Acknowledging an Event clears it from the Alarm Monitor views of the UI, allowing the user to effectively flag it as a non-issue or having already been addressed, while still allowing it to be accessed if necessary.

Hint

To show/hide acknowledged Events in the Alarm Monitor views, open the filter options tray and toggle the Show Acknowledged Events option on/off.

Acknowledging can be done by Alarm Policy, which will acknowledge all Events under the selected Policy, or by individual Event.

Acknowledging by Policy

When acknowledging by Alarm Policy from the Policy tab, all Events generated under the selected Policy will be cleared from the Alarm Monitor views.

To acknowledge by Alarm Policy:

  1. While on the Policies tab of the Alarm Monitor view, select the Policy by ticking the checkbox for its row.
  2. If acknowledging multiple Alarms, verify that the correct Policies have been selected.
  3. Click the Acknowledge Selected Events button.

Note

The Acknowledge Selected Events button will only be available when at least one Policy checkbox has been ticked.

Once the Alarm Policy has been acknowledged, it will cleared from the Polices tab of the Alarm Monitor.

Acknowledging individual Events

Acknowledging individual Events instead of the Alarms they triggered allows the Alarms to be retained in the Alarm Monitor view.

To acknowledge an Event:

  1. Open the Alarm Policy details page by clicking on the Policy that was triggered by the Event.
  2. Scroll down to the Event List section of the page.
  3. Select the Event to acknowledge by ticking the checkbox for its row.
  4. Click the Acknowledge button.

Note

Acknowledging a criteria/Event key on the Alarm Policy details page will acknowledge all Events for that key.

Once the Event has been acknowledged, it will be cleared from the Event List of the Alarm Policy details page.
