Viewing network maps

To view an existing network map, either select its card from the main Network Maps page or click on the map name in the tree menu to the side.

In the tree menu, the icon next to each map name indicates whether it was created as a SpatialMap or a GeoMap. The search field can also be used to filter the list.

Map view

When viewing a network map, the follow actions are available to the user:

  • Updating the current map - In map view, click on the refresh button to force the map to update using the latest system data.
  • Toggling between map details - The DNS/IP button can be used to toggle between showing DNS-resolved addresses and IP addresses. There is also a button to toggle between displaying bitrate and utilization for connections between devices.
  • Editing the map layout - Click the lasso, arrow, and layer buttons in the edit mode toolbar to bring up options for manually repositioning objects in the current map.
  • Changing map settings - Click the map icon in the edit mode toolbar to open the settings tab of the configuration page for the current map.
  • Viewing/editing current devices - Click on the tree icon in the edit mode toolbar to open the list of objects currently assigned to the group/map in its configuration page.
  • Adding new devices - Click on the + icon to open the current map’s configuration page to add or remove objects.

Main page view

In addition to opening network maps for viewing, the following functions are also accessible from the main Network Maps page:

  • Toggling between tile/card and list view - Select the corresponding button to display existing network maps as cards with additional details or in a tabular list.

Hint

From the list view, the user can select multiple maps to delete and open the configuration page (pencil icon) for an individual map. For additional information, see the section on modifying map configurations.

  • Expanding/collapsing the tree menu - Click a map name to expand or collapse the list of devices included in that network map.
  • Accessing additional options - Click the gear icon for a map or device to display a list of additional options and actions that can be performed for that object, including running Reports, showing more details, and opening its settings page.
